Staff and students at Central Academy are celebrating the fact that they are the most improved Academy in Cumbria and the highest performing school in the City. The confirmation has come from the official Department for Education School Performance Tables which were released on Thursday.
Central Academy has achieved a Progress 8 score of -0.02, which is significantly above the county average (-0.22). This score places the school first amongst all schools in the City of Carlisle.
With this impressive progress 8 score, Central Academy are now positioned 11th of the 61 Secondary schools in Cumbria.
Principal, Stephen Gilby, said, “we are delighted to have the exceptional progress of our students in their 2016 examination outcomes recognised in the Provisional 2016 Performance Tables. This is such a positive endorsement of the high standards which exist at the Academy and another step on our journey to Outstanding.”
In the next week Central Academy will be running an open morning for prospective parents on Thursday 20th October, 9.00 -10.00 am.
