Our rewards system celebrates the achievements and successes of our students inside and outside the classroom, focusing on demonstrating our three character virtues of Respect, Resilience and Ambition. Our students are presented with opportunities to be recognised and praised for their academic achievements, progress, demonstrating good character and attendance, as well as their individual and team contributions to the Academy.
Our consistent and fair rewards system not only celebrates our student’s successes but also aims to inspire and motivate others to achieve and be their very best.
Our Rewards system operates on a ‘House’ system. Each student and staff member is placed into one of three houses ‘Luguvalium’, ‘Valentia, or ‘Hadrian’ – celebrating the Roman origins of our Carlisle Community. Our House System instils a sense of belonging and community and healthy competition to be the best we can be.

Daily rewards
Students can be awarded a range of rewards linked directly to demonstrating our three character virtues of Respect, Resilience and Ambition.
Each lesson, alongside house points being awarded for great work completed, one student will be selected for each of one of our three iChoose rewards.
iChoose Ambition
iChoose Respect
iChoose Resilience
Our iChoose awards are worth 5 house points and are awarded to students who have been ‘chosen’ by the teacher for showing great character throughout the lesson or for demonstrating great character around the academy. Parents/carers are notified via email when the student receives an iChoose award.
Weekly rewards: House points, Golden Tickets and the Tuesday Character Rewards Station
Each week during Character tutor time on a Monday, students are recognised for their achievements. As part of the tutor session, students are notified if they have been awarded a ‘Golden Ticket’ – which is awarded to students who achieved a total of 20 house points or more in the previous week. On a Tuesday lunch time, our renowned ‘Character Rewards Station’ is open for business, where students can collect their golden tickets and have the opportunity to win a ‘bonus’ prize by spinning our prize wheel.

Students put their name onto their golden ticket and place this into one of three prize buckets, with exciting prizes up for grabs every half term. Each half term, a ticket is drawn from each prize bucket, with the winner taking home the prize!

Weekly Rewards
- Principal’s student of the week (one student from each key stage KS3, KS4, KS5)
