A Warm Welcome to Central Academy

🎓 𝓐𝓵𝓾𝓶𝓷𝓲 𝓸𝓯 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓶𝓸𝓷𝓽𝓱 🎓 𝗞𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗲𝘆 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲- Central class of 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟵 Each month we hope to be able to share some of our wonderful ex-students with our Central Community, celebrating their successes! Our alumni of the month for November is 𝗞𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗲𝘆 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲. Since leaving Central Academy, she pursued her interest in Art, English Language and Sociology in 6th form, which has led her to be Trainee Solicitor, specialising in Criminal defence after completing her Law degree at Leeds Beckett University. Kelsey currently works in the Magistrate’s Court, where she meets with clients and advises them on their next steps. She also gets the opportunity to work in the Police Station, where she handles all administrative work – Kelsey is an incredible help to society! Unfortunately, Kelsey has met some hard challenges throughout her years of education, balancing the struggles of lockdown one and two in her 6th form years, and later again during university. Despite these hardships, she has showed great resilience, finished her 6th form year and juggled a business, running her own Sports Bar in town while getting her degree. She truly embodies the definition of ambition and shows, despite adversity, if you are resilient, you will succeed. Kelsey reflects on her time at Central, remembering how enjoyable History was due to her lovely teacher Mrs Barnsley, who motivated her consistently and made History her favourite subject. She also loved art, so much so that she continued the subject on into her A-levels. Kelsey is also strong-willed, visible in the extensive work she put into her GCSE’s, where she would arrive at school at 7am to revise English, and would not leave till 5pm! 👫 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟭𝟯 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 👫 ✍️ 𝙀𝙭𝙖𝙢 𝙨𝙠𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙨 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙥 ✍️ On Thursday, our year 13 Sociology students attended the Trafford Centre to participate in an exam skills workshop, brushing up on their exam techniques for their paper 1 exam. A fantastic session with lots of great revision & essential exam technique! Our students were fantastic throughout with wonderful engagement and lots of great takeaways for their summer exams! #ExamReady #Ambition #Respect #Resilience

🎁🎄 𝕊𝕙𝕠𝕖𝕓𝕠𝕩 𝔸𝕡𝕡𝕖𝕒𝕝 𝟚𝟘𝟚𝟝 🎄🎁 ❤️ ❹❼❶ 𝕤𝕙𝕠𝕖𝕓𝕠𝕩𝕖𝕤, 𝕋𝕙𝕒𝕟𝕜 𝕪𝕠𝕦! ❤️ On Monday, the Samaritan's Purse visited the academy to collect our 𝗔𝗠𝗔𝗭𝗜𝗡𝗚 final donation from our 2025 Shoebox Appeal. In 2023 we sent a huge 295 shoeboxes to Ukraine, eclipsed by an amazing 432 shoeboxes sent to Cambodia in 2024. We thought it could not get any better… how wrong we were! 4⃣7⃣1⃣ shoeboxes are currently on route to Moldova - where they will be given to children displaced from Ukraine in tented refugee camps. 🎁 A message from Mrs Barnsley, “𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘬 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘰 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘻𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦, 𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘰𝘹𝘦𝘴.
