I am delighted to welcome you to Richard Rose Central Academy, which is part of United Learning.

The United Learning motto is ‘The Best in Everyone’, and we wholeheartedly subscribe to this philosophy.

Here at Central Academy, we are committed to providing an outstanding learning experience through our broad and balanced curriculum. Our curriculum is far more than just a range of subjects, in its broadest sense it provides a full rounded education for all students, with excellent enrichment opportunities that broaden horizons and create lifelong memories for our students.

On Tuesday, we trekked deeper into the Amazon rainforest, we had the opportunity to immerse ourselves into the culture of Amazonian tribes, the way of life of the Sharman people as well as spending a night sleeping in Hammocks under the stars. โœจ Mr Armstrong was most impressed by the abundance of buttress roots, drip tip leaves and climbing vines on show seeing some real life geography first handโ€ฆ But, still is yet to see a sloth ๐Ÿฆฅ! We returned to camp on Wednesday for a more relaxed evening with a chocolate making workshop, including learning the value of chocolate as Ecuadors major export. Followed by some well earned down time and group activities. Today is our last day in Camp Don Biki where we are continuing to build benches and tables for the local school and have made some bracelets with a teacher from the local school before we return to the city for some R&R tomorrow! @campsint @rawlettschool #EthicalJourneysWithImpact #TeamSunfo #CommunityAction #Respect #Resilience #Ambition

With our final full day of project work on camp we have worked on another two community action projects, continuing to work in local infrastructure. Working in the blazing sunshine, weโ€ฆ ๐Ÿช Built a woodern fence around the garden for the local school, this included cutting, fitting and painting the timbers. ๐Ÿงฑ Worked on the schools open dining area to create a fire pit for cooking, as well as continuing to paint the benches and the building structure. We seen Team Sunfo develop into a real team, all mucking in, working together to support one and other in what was some really difficult conditions! We could not be prouder of the group and how hard they are working to support the community here in rural Ecuador! ๐Ÿ’š Following our project work we had the opportunity to complete some local henna style tattoos using ink from fruits grown in the jungle, lead by Teo the camp chef. An opportunity to further understand the ways of life for the local people and their cultural traditions, before playing more football with the local children! This really is a trip of a lifetime, working alongside our friends from @rawlettschool! @campsint #EthicalJourneysWithImpact #TeamSunfo #CommunityAction #Respect #Resilience #Ambition
I like the school because there is no bullying and the teachers help you when you are stuck with your work Year 7 Student
