🏏 𝗨𝟭𝟯’𝘀 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁 🏏 @ Austin Friars- Thursday 5th June It was fantastic to be able to take two teams of U13 students to play Cricket at Austin Friars on Thursday. It was proud moment and a great step forward to be able to field both a boys and a girls teams, something we see as really encouraging for the development of the sport. It was a rainy day that turned out bright in many ways. The boys batted first and found the going a little tough against a consistent Friars attack Kodadadi top scored with 8 and Bell supported with 7, the remainder of the team picked up a few runs each before being dismissed for 42. Just not enough runs scored off the bat, but developing! In reply Friars were at 1 for 1 in the first over with a great wicket by Barron but then things slowly went Friars way. They scored consistently and our bowling gave them far too many runs in extras. They eventually finished on 71 for two ( Irwin got the additional wicket) of their overs. The girls absolutely loved their experience playing the pairs format on the astro. Friars did eventually come out on top but it was the enjoyment gained by the girls that was the winner! They all want to play more and are scheduled to play again next week. 👏🏼 #Ambition #Resilience #Respect
