A Warm Welcome to Central Academy

👹 𝓚𝓢2 𝓟𝓻𝓲𝓶𝓪𝓻𝔂 𝓟𝓪𝓻𝓽𝓷𝓮𝓻𝓼 👹 🐉 𝒟𝓇𝒶𝑔𝑜𝓃’𝓈 𝒟𝑒𝓃 𝒢𝓇𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝐹𝒾𝓃𝒶𝓁 🐉 This afternoon, we hosted our second ever Manchester United Foundation/RRCA Dragons Den Grand final in our Manchester United HUB. 12 teams from our four partner primary’s in Houghton C of E School, Pennine Way Primary School, Norman Street Primary School and Newtown Primary School presented to our panel of dragons, Mrs Nelson, Miss Sewell and Mrs Sheridan, in a bid to be crowned the overall winners after qualifying from their in school finals over the last few weeks. In the end, ‘𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀’ representing Houghton came away the winners after an unbelievably close final. Any one of the teams could have walked away the winners after showing exemplary business acumen. 📖 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟳 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟴 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 📖 On Thursday 19th March 2026 we will be hosting our Year 7 and Year 8 showcase evening. The evening will run from 4pm – 6:00pm. We warmly invite all parents and carers of Year 7 and Year 8 students to come in to the academy to speak with their child’s subject teachers and take a look at the fantastic work that our Year 7 and Year 8 students have been completing across the different curriculum areas. The evening is also an opportunity for parents and carers to ask any questions, raise queries or address uncertainties that they may have. Please note, there are no formal appointments required to attend the evening. Parents and carers are encouraged to arrive at a time that is convenient for them. Parents and carers of Year 7 and Year 8 students have received an email letter this week with the finer details. We look forward to seeing you in the academy on Thursday 19th March.
