A Warm Welcome to Central Academy

𝔹𝔹ℂ 𝔹𝕚𝕥𝕖𝕤𝕚𝕫𝕖 ℂ𝕒𝕣𝕖𝕖𝕣𝕤 𝕋𝕠𝕦𝕣 Today we were lucky to have the BBC Bitesize Careers Tour in school. The crew, along with a panel of local professionals employed in our area, delivered a fantastic 1 hour interactive session to all our students in each year group 7-10. The session was aimed at inspiring our young people and raising awareness about the opportunities available to them, on their doorstep! The tour is back on the road after a few years and they are visiting over 110,000 students in the UK. Central Academy was the first stop for the crew this week in Carlisle. A huge thank you to the BBC bitesize tour crew and presenter Kim Boak (BBC Bitesize) for hosting some amazing sessions as well as Cara Martin (NHS Foundation), Toby Bewley (BBC radio Cumbria) and Nicole Paterson (Greggs) for joining us, sharing some great information about their roles and stories as well as answering lots of questions! A huge thank you to Ms. Whyte for her hard work organising this event, who reflected on the event, saying, “It was great to see our students listening to the inspiring stories of the local host and professionals, engaging in the sessions - inspiring their future choices, raising ambitions and realising the potential they have, right here in our local area with local employers.” All our students had a great day and we wish the BBC Bitesize Team the best of luck with the rest of their tour! #CareersAtCentral #MyFutureMe #BitesizeTour #BBCBitesize

🏆 ℙ𝕣𝕚𝕟𝕔𝕚𝕡𝕒𝕝’𝕤 𝕊𝕥𝕦𝕕𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕤 𝕠𝕗 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕨𝕖𝕖𝕜 🏆 A huge congratulations to 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗮 and 𝗦𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗲 who have both been awarded as our Principal’s students of the week for last week. 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗮 was selected by Mr Markham for her persistently fantastic attitude towards her learning, “Anna is always a willing participant in lessons, listening actively and engaging positively with every activity that she is set”. 𝗦𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗲 was also selected by Mr Markham for her ‘relentlessly positive attitude’ in lesson, “Sophie always wants to be the best version of herself in lesson. Sophie always completes her work to the best of her ability, responds to feedback and challenges her own understanding in lessons”.
