A Warm Welcome to Central Academy

🎤 𝔼𝕟𝕕 𝕠𝕗 𝕥𝕖𝕣𝕞 𝕜𝕒𝕣𝕒𝕠𝕜𝕖 🎤 Our favourite way to end a half term! As we do in every half term, we concluded this half term with our ever popular karaoke challenge. A huge well done to Eviee (Yr. 7) won last weeks house challenge, gaining some valuable points for house Luguvalium in the house challenge race. On Friday, we had an extended break, which meant lots of opportunities for singers, including a fabulous rendition of Billie Jean by Bobby (Yr. 10). 👔 𝓤𝓷𝓲𝓯𝓸𝓻𝓶 𝓢𝔀𝓪𝓹 𝓢𝓱𝓸𝓹 👔 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝓅𝓇𝑒-𝓁𝑜𝓋𝑒𝒹 𝓊𝓃𝒾𝒻𝑜𝓇𝓂 𝓈𝒶𝓁𝑒 Our annual Central Academy PTA Uniform Swap Shop and Pre-Loved uniform sale will run here at the academy tomorrow (𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲) between 10:30 and 11:30am. All uniform is pre-loved and of a high quality and will be available to both swap and purchase at a heavily reduced rate. If you are unable to join us tomorrow, the swap shop will also be open on 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 between 2:30pm and 3:30pm. #Uniform #WeAreRRCA #Ambition #Resilience #Respect

💙 𝔼𝕟𝕕 𝕠𝕗 𝕋𝕖𝕣𝕞 𝔸𝕤𝕤𝕖𝕞𝕓𝕝𝕪 💙 On Friday, we also said our goodbyes to some of our staff who are either retiring or moving on to pastures new. We would like to say a big thank you and send our very best wishes to… Dr. Buchanan, Mrs. O’Neil, Mrs. McDermott, Miss. Morrison and Mr Burton. All of whom have contributed massively to our academy over their time with us. However, there are two very special shout outs. Firstly, to Mr. Townsend, who will take retirement after 14 years at Central- a pivotal character in our science department and sixth form team. He will be missed very much by staff and students alike. And finally, to Mrs Barnsley, who retires after over 20 years at Central (and St. Aidan’s). Mrs Barnsley has been at the heart of our school throughout the years, leading on countless projects within our school and wider community and holding a number of senior positions throughout her career. Mrs Barnsley led our primary transition process and had inducted, looked after and taught literally thousands of students during her time here. She leaves behind a legacy that will not be forgotten. 🏅 𝔼𝕟𝕕 𝕠𝕗 𝕋𝕖𝕣𝕞 𝔸𝕨𝕒𝕣𝕕𝕤 𝔸𝕤𝕤𝕖𝕞𝕓𝕝𝕪 🏅 🏫 𝑴𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒍𝒅𝒂 𝑱𝒓. 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒔 🏫 Throughout our end of term rewards assembly we were treated to three fantastic performances from our amazing Matilda Jr. cast. As with each of the shows this week, they were absolutely wonderful- filling our atrium with their amazing sound! The ambition shown by our cast to get up in-front of the whole school to perform each of these songs is absolutely admirable!
