Co-Curricular and Enrichment Activities

Our school character virtues are embedded into the very core of everything we do. We have a dedicated team of staff who lead on the character curriculum and wider character development for our students and our school community. This extends to our broad co-curricular and enrichment offer, which offers students an opportunity to explore their talents, passions and new interests outside of the standard classroom curriculum.

We regularly review our co-curricular offering each term, listening to our students and their feedback to provide the best and most exciting possible experiences. In line with our vision and mission statement, at Central Academy we strive to create lifelong memories for our students and broaden their horizons. Our co-curricular timetable has a wide range of activities to offer something for everyone.

We encourage each and every student to take part in at least one co-curricular activity a week and to trial different activities and opportunities that they wouldn't ordinarily try. Below is the co-curricular timetable for the Spring-Term 2025.

Alongside our broad co-curricular timetable, this year (2024-2025) we have launched a large and well-established student leadership team to strengthen and extend our student council and student voice provision. The student leadership team is spearheaded by sixth form students and supported by elected student ambassadors from Key stage 3 and Key stage 4 in all areas of school life such as mental health and wellbeing, the school council, performing arts and much, much more. Our student leadership team are integral to the success of many of our events over the year.

Please keep an eye on our busy social media channels and website for further opportunities and events to get involved in.

iChoose Enrichment

At Central Academy, we reward students not only for their success in the classroom, but also for their success in co-curricular and enrichment activities. At our Tuesday Character rewards station, students can ‘cash in’ their Completed Co-Curricular attendance tracker. Once students have been to a total of 8 clubs, and achieved 8 enrichment stamps, students can exchange this for a golden ticket and the chance to spin our prize wheel for a bonus prize.
